The winter festival has begun, and the Guardians have been busy decorating the Tree of Lights to see them through the longest night of the year - the beautiful Solstice, celebrated this year by a total eclipse of the moon! Seems to me like a good omen for a Winter Festival, complete with funny little Diki deer, gift box surprises, and beautiful, sparking new Kismet stones...

That's right - more mares are joining our unicorn family, the elegant "Windswept" and "Reclining" poses. These new line will be put into regular rotation, which means they're all up for grabs for everyone and we suspect will be becoming new favorite poses very quickly :D

This was truly our big little festival... what with the wonderful Tang Mares who wandered into the Isle, games, joviality, and one heck of a lovely romp through Kalidore during our first Mini RP... It was a hoot, though I think Tyden might feel even more wary of Adar now(or perhaps just Xanthe's spell-casting skills). Can't wait to do it all again next year!

The Second RP Begins!
The much awaited tale of Ulysess, our NEWEST STALLION. But Ulysses is proving to be not an easy fellow to get a hold of, and the object of this RP will be two fold: dive deeper into the many secrets of Kalidore, and secure yourself a breeding spot with the elusive Ulysses - if you can! Not to mention that there will be all sorts of other great prizes, like foundation mares and breeding items, including a Sunstone! And... wow, did you see that? *blinks* I think we're not alone on Kalidore anymore..

A very different kind of unicorn has just wandered into Kalidore...
The First Cosplay Auction
This event marks our first official cosplay, and we hope you're as excited about it as we are! And what better a theme then some other famous unicorns... Meredith Ann Pierce's Trilogy - Birth of the Firebringer, Dark Moon, and Son of Summer stars - tells the story of a proud unicorn tribe waiting in exile for their legendary Firebringer - a coal-black unicorn with a moon on his brow and fire in his hooves - destined to drive out the Wyrmking and return them to their sacred vale. It's definitely an interesting read, and I hope I have done it justice here through these wonderful illustrations.
Our Harvest Festival Extravaganza has begun!
What an amazing Fall Festival, with all sorts of wonderful events and surprises - including the introduction of the Unikoros - our first baby boys! Plus there were the wonderful Bejewelled Flatsales, surprise contests and giveaways, sneak peaks and previews, and everything you could think of to make a Fall Festival grande! We hope you've all enjoyed the party :)

The Companion Challenge Quiz made use of the polished new website and, back by popular demand, the Naming Contest saw Autumn's Flame find one of her own. Again, many wonderful stones were also gifted throughout the week as we counted down to our final week in Intros...
March 27th, 2008: Launching Kalidore
PI Adoptables Introductions ~ Week #1
We are off the ground and running! After months of planning and preparation, the Unicorns of Kalidore grace PI for the first time. The feedback was tremendous and loyal followers emerge right from the beginning. This week's contests included a Recruiting Game to win Sereya, and Naming Contest for Talielen. Many Stones were also handed out randomly throughout the first week's events.
It was a small posting in the Adoptables Ideas forum, or maybe it was the old approval forum, I can't remember and the thread is long lost. That was when Kalidore first began, as a collection of sketches and splash page or two, with much urging from Kristin (Lady Everlasting) and encouragement from friends. It would take some time before they were ready, but a good idea simply can't be put to rest. All that you see now was because a little idea that grew and grew. That was the beginning of Kalidore.
